【摘要】:Thecloudpointofpetroleumproductsandbiodieselfuelsisanindexofthelowesttemperatureoftheirutilityforcertainapplications.Waxcrystalsofsufficientquantitycanplugfiltersusedinsomefuelsystems.Petroleumblendingoperationsrequireaprecisemeasurementofthecloudpoint.Thistestmethodcandeterminethetemperatureofthetestspecimenatwhichwaxcrystalshaveformedsufficientlytobeobservedasacloudwitharesolutionof0.1x00B0;C.ThistestmethodprovidesresultsthatareequivalenttoTestMethodD2500.Note18212;ThisisbasedontheTestMethodD2500equivalentcloudpointinwhichthe0.1x00B0;Cresultisroundedtothenextlowerinteger.ThistestmethoddeterminesthecloudpointinashorterperiodoftimethanTestMethodD2500.Note28212;Incasesofsampleswithcloudpointsnearambienttemperatures,timesavingsmaynotberealized.ThistestmethodeliminatesmostoftheoperatortimerequiredofTestMethodD2500.Thistestmethoddoesnotrequiretheuseofamechanicalrefrigerationapparatus.Note38212;Incertaincasesofhighambienttemperature,asourceofcoolingwatermayberequiredtomeasurelowtemperaturecloudpoints(see7.1).1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthecloudpointofpetroleumproductsandbiodieselfuelsthataretransparentinlayers40mminthicknessbyanautomaticinstrumentusingaconstantcoolingrate.1.2Thistestmethodcoverstherangeoftemperaturesfromx2212;60to+49x00B0;Cwithtemperatureresolutionof0.1x00B0;C,however,therangeoftemperaturesincludedinthe1997interlaboratorycooperativetestprogramonlycoveredthetemperaturerangeofx2013;56to+34x00B0;C.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
