【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationestablishesapplicabletestmethods,minimumphysicalandthermalperformancecriteria,asuggestedsizingguide,andsuggestedpurchasinginformationforrainwearforusebyworkerswhomaybeexposedtothermalhazardsofmomentaryelectricarcsandopenflames.1.1.1Thisspecificationdoesnotapplytotheelectricalcontacthazardsorelectricshockhazardsinvolvedwithelectricarcs.1.1.2Thisspecificationdoesnotapplytoflashfirehazardssuchasindustrialhydrocarbonflashfiresorotherpetrochemicalflashfirehazards.1.2Theobjectiveofthisspecificationistoprescribefit,functionandperformancecriteriaforrainwearthatmeetsaminimumlevelofthermalandphysicalperformancewhenexposedtoalaboratory-simulatedelectricarcorflameexposure.1.3Thisspecificationisnotintendedtoserveasadetailedmanufacturingorpurchasingspecification,butcanbereferencedinpurchasecontractstoensurethatminimumperformancerequirementsaremet.1.4Controlledlaboratorytestsusedtodeterminecompliancewiththeperformancerequirementsofthisspecificationshallnotbedeemedasestablishingperformancelevelsforallsituationstowhichwearersofthisprotectiveclothingmaybeexposed.1.5Thein-servicecareanduseofthisrainwearisbeyondthescopeofthisspecification.1.6Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.TheSIunitsshowninparenthesesareforinformationonly.ThefollowingsafetyhazardscaveatpertainsonlytoSectionsand,ofthisspecification:Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
